Overview

The route follows a local trail that takes you down into the valley north of Ghorepani, before climbing up another ridge, known as “Khopra Ridge”.Khopra Danda Trek offers the perfect view of snow-capped peaks and green hills including terraced fields, pasturelands, and beautiful cultural villages.

The 12-days trip begins with your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. You then take a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara with mesmerizing views of massive mountains followed by a short scenic drive to Kimche.

Kimche starts the actual trekking off the beaten trails to Ghandruk, which is the largest Gurung village in the Annapurna region. The route passes through a densely forested path filled with rhododendrons, oaks, bamboos, and pines.

The trek not only offers eye-catching views of the snowy Himalayas like Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Nilgiri (7061m), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna South (7219m), Machhapuchhre (6993m), and others, but also features a stunning view of sunrise over the mountains from Khopra Ridge and Poon Hill.

The trail passes through beautiful villages of Gurung, Magar, Chhetri, and Brahmin communities, which allows trekkers to observe and experience the pure Nepali culture and lifestyle. The trek is an excellent way to make your children familiar with the joys of trekking and exchanging culture and experience with the local people.

Day to Day Itinerary Expand/Collapse All

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by a representative from your trekking agency and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city or rest and prepare for the trek.

Day 2 : Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m)

After breakfast, you will be driven to Pokhara, a scenic lakeside town that is the gateway to the Annapurna region. The drive takes about 6 hours, and you'll have time to explore Pokhara in the afternoon.

Day 3 : Pokhara to Tadapani (2,590m)

After breakfast, you will drive to Nayapul (1,070m) and begin your trek to Tadapani. The trail follows the Modi Khola river through rhododendron forests and small villages. Tadapani is a small village with stunning views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre.

Day 4 : Tadapani to Dobato (3,350m)

Today's trek takes you through dense rhododendron forests and up to the ridge at Deurali Pass. From here, you'll have great views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. After a short descent, you'll reach Dobato where you'll spend the night.

Day 5 : Dobato to Upper Chistibung (2,975m)

Today, the trail gradually ascends through forests and meadows to reach Upper Chistibung. You'll have stunning views of the Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre along the way.

Day 6 : Upper Chistibung to Khopra Ridge (3,660m)

Today's trek is the highlight of the Khopra Trek as you reach Khopra Ridge. The trail takes you through alpine forests and open meadows where you'll have breathtaking views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. You'll spend the night in teahouses on the Khopra Ridge.

Day 7 : Khopra Ridge to Swanta (2,200m)

Today's trek descends from Khopra Ridge through rhododendron forests and small villages. You'll reach the village of Swanta, where you'll spend the night.
 

Day 8 : Swanta to Ulleri (2,050m)

Today's trek is a downhill walk through small villages and farmland. You'll reach the village of Ulleri, where you'll spend the night.
 

Day 9 : Ulleri to Nayapul and Drive to Pokhara

Today is your last day of trekking as you descend to Nayapul. From here, you'll drive back to Pokhara where you can relax and celebrate your trekking accomplishments.
 

Day 10 : Drive back to Kathmandu

After breakfast, you'll drive back to Kathmandu where you'll have time to explore the city and do some souvenir shopping. In the evening, you'll enjoy a farewell dinner with your trekking group.
 

Day 11 : Departures

This day is the final day for you from Nepal after successfully your destination target. today going to bye-bye to all who together walked, ate, played all think shared like family and going to meet your happy family and friends. everyone shaking our hand and saying bye-bye see you again.

At high altitudes, your cardio-pulmonary system is affected by low oxygen density. You can suffer from general breathing difficulties to Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) and your skin is susceptible to sunburn if not protected by clothes or sunblock. The AMS is preventable through appropriate trekking pace and undertaking acclimatization.

We highly recommend having a guide with you. You will travel in wilderness areas and at high elevations so from a safety aspect you should not be alone. Traveling through villages there are many trails and if you took the wrong path accidentally it might be challenging to communicate with locals to get back on the right way or to secure food or accommodation. They will be unlikely to speak English.
